What is a Personal Customs Clearance Code?

A Personal Customs Clearance Code is a personal identification code issued by the Korea Customs Service for customs clearance of items purchased overseas or imported personally.

It may be used during the import declaration and customs clearance process for goods shipped from overseas to South Korea.

A Personal Customs Clearance Code can be newly issued, inquired, or reissued on the official Korea Customs Service website after identity verification.

Why does Golf KR request a Personal Customs Clearance Code?

If an item ordered from Golf KR is shipped from overseas to South Korea, the Personal Customs Clearance Code of the orderer or recipient may be required for customs clearance procedures.

If the Personal Customs Clearance Code is not registered or the information does not match, the following problems may occur:

  • Customs hold
  • Shipping delay
  • Request for additional information
  • Customs clearance failure
  • Possibility of return

Please enter the correct Personal Customs Clearance Code when ordering for smooth delivery.

Personal Customs Clearance Code Format

The Personal Customs Clearance Code is generally entered in the following format:


P123456789012

It consists of the uppercase English letter P followed by 12 digits.

Please do not include spaces or hyphens when entering.

Pre-registration Checklist

Please check the following information before registering your Personal Customs Clearance Code:

  • Verify that the orderer's or recipient's name matches the issued information.
  • Verify that the phone number matches the order information.
  • Verify that the Personal Customs Clearance Code is correct.
  • Verify that you have not used someone else's Personal Customs Clearance Code.

If the information does not match, customs clearance may be delayed.

How to Register

Register on the order completion page

If an input field for the Personal Customs Clearance Code is displayed on the Golf KR order completion page after completing your order, you can enter it directly to register.

Once registered, it will be reflected in the relevant order and customer information.

Register via email link

If the Personal Customs Clearance Code is not registered after your order, Golf KR may send a notification email.

If you are unable to use the secure registration page, you can reply to the notification email to send your Personal Customs Clearance Code.

Purpose of Information Use

Golf KR uses the Personal Customs Clearance Code provided by the customer only for the following purposes:

  • Import declaration of ordered goods
  • Customs clearance in South Korea
  • Shipping processing
  • Customer support related to customs clearance
  • Providing convenience for future orders from the same customer

This information will not be used for purposes other than order and customs clearance processing.

The Personal Customs Clearance Code may be personal information that can identify an individual, so it must be managed securely.

Storage and Protection

Golf KR applies necessary technical and administrative protective measures to securely manage Personal Customs Clearance Codes.

The Personal Customs Clearance Code entered by the customer may be registered in Shopify order information and customer information.

Only a part of the full number may be displayed in emails or on screens.

Changing Registration Information

If you need to change a Personal Customs Clearance Code you have already registered, please use the following methods:

  • Change function on the order completion page
  • Registration email sent by Golf KR
  • Customer service email inquiry

Q. Is a Personal Customs Clearance Code absolutely necessary?

Overseas orders shipped to South Korea may require a Personal Customs Clearance Code depending on the type of goods and customs clearance method.

If you have received a request email from Golf KR, please register it as it is necessary for customs clearance of the relevant order.

Q. I was unable to enter it when ordering.

Please use the registration button in the email sent after order completion or contact customer service.

Q. I entered the wrong number.

Q. Can I use someone else's number?

It is not recommended.

If the orderer's or recipient's information does not match the Personal Customs Clearance Code issuance information, customs clearance may be delayed or held.

Q. Once registered, can I use it for my next order?

If successfully saved to your Golf KR customer information, you may not need to enter it again for future orders.

However, if the information has changed or reconfirmation is required during customs clearance, we may ask for it again.

Q. The registration link has expired.

Secure registration links may expire after a certain period of time.

If the link has expired, please contact customer service to request a new link.

Q. Will the registered number be fully displayed in the email?

For security, only a portion of the number may be masked and displayed.

Q. Where can I check the customs clearance status?

You can check it through the Korea Customs Service's overseas direct purchase customs clearance information inquiry service.

Caution

Golf KR does not request the following information:

  • Card PIN
  • Internet banking password
  • Full resident registration number
  • One-time authentication number
  • Account security card information

If you receive a suspicious email or link, do not click on it and contact customer service.
